Answers

1. Why does Classic Poker not accept players from the United States?

With the recent developments in the United States, we feel that allowing US players to play on Classic Poker would be irresponsible on our part. By allowing US players, we would be jeopardizing our ability to service ALL our players with prompt secure financial processing. Because we have chosen to respect the US decision on internet gaming, we have received assurances from all our financial processors of continued fast and secure service for ALL our customers.

Sites that continue to ignore the United States on this legal issue, make statements that they will not be affected. We strongly believe this to be untrue.

Obvoiusly our decision in this matter reduces our revenues -- but at Classic Poker, security and protection of ALL our players is our number one priority!

2. What is collusion and what is done to prevent players from colluding?

Collusion is when two or more players play together to obtain an unfair advantage over other players. This is obvoiusly a very big concern for many players and Classic Poker would like to assure our players that we have measures in place to detect and prevent collusion in our poker room. Collusion is a very serious offence and any players found colluding will be immediately banned and their funds withheld.

3. What happens if I get disconnected in a middle of a game?

If you get disconnected while in a middle of a game, you will default to 'Checking' as your action. If 'Checking' is not a suitable action and you are still disconnected, your hand will be folded.

4. What happens if I lose my money due to a technical issue?

Depending on the technical issue, you may be compensated for the loss of funds. You will need to send as much detail of the game as possible (i.e. hand number, table name, etc.) to pokerquery@wagerlogic.com and after review, if we determine the issue was something we control on our servers, you will be refunded immediately.

5. What happens if there is a server crash?

Transactions are posted to players' accounts only at the completion of every hand. If a hand does not complete for any reason, then all players' accounts are restored as they were at the beginning of the hand. All bets are off and a new hand is dealt.

If you are playing a tounrnament and the server crashes, you will be refunded your money based on our crashed tournament policy.

6. How many games can I play at once?

There is no limit to the number of games you can play at once. The limiting factor is the performance of your computer and internet connection.

7. I am playing multiple tables and my computer seems to be lagging / is slow?

There can be many different reasons for this:

  1. You may have too many windows opened for your computer to handle.
  2. You may be experiencing connectivity issues with your Internet provider.
  3. You may be running a thrid party application that is slowing down the poker software i.e. incompatible tracking software

If this occurs, close third party applications you are running, and/or turn off animation in the poker software. If that does not work and you believe the issues our not with your computer or Internet connection, then email support and we will investigate immediately.

8. What are My Poker Points (MPP)?

MPPs are Classic Poker's way of rewarding our loyal poker players. MPPs are earned by playing cash games and tournaments. To find out more, click here.

9. What currency are you games in and how can I play on different currency tables?

We offer games in three different types of currencies ($, £, €). To play on any of the different currency tables, just double click on the table and join like you would normally. The buy in window will show you the amount of money you have available in the currency of the table as well as in dollars.

10. Do I lose any money during currency conversions when playing different currency tables?

Absolutely NOT! Classic Poker uses the same exchange rate for players going into a table as coming out of the table. No money is taken during currency conversions.

11. Is there a minimum buy in for each game?

Yes. The minimum buy-in for most tables is 10 times the big bet. For example, a $2/$4 limit holdem game would have a minimum buy-in of $40. Some of the higher games will have a minimum buy in of 15 times the big bet. See the poker tables for buy-in information.

12. How does Classic Poker make money? What is rake?

Classic Poker charges a small percentage of each pot called the ‘rake’. The calculation of rake is based on the size of the pot and the number of players playing at the table. No rake is taken at all if the hand ends before the "flop" (no flop - no drop policy). To see the more details and the complete rake structure, click here.

13. When is a raise not a raise (or a bet not a bet)? Why can't I sometimes re-raise to protect my hand when a player has raised all in?

In a no-limit or pot-limit game, a raise must be equal to or greater than the previous bet or raise. In a limit game, a raise must be equal to or greater than half the previous bet or raise. This comes into play in determining whether the betting can be reopened. For example, in $2/$4 limit, on the last round, if someone bets $1, that is not considered a bet. The next player can call $1 or raise to $4. But if someone goes all in for $2, then that IS considered a full bet, and the next person can call $2 or raise to $6. In the same game, if the bet is $4 and the last player to act goes all in for $5, that is not considered a raise and does not reopen the betting. All that those who have already acted can do is call the $1. But if the all-in player has $6, then he has raised by half the bet size and anyone who has already acted can, in turn, either call the extra $2 or raise to $8. That is, this does reopen the betting. In a no-limit or pot-limit game, if someone bets $100 and someone goes all in for $110, that is not considered a raise and does not reopen the betting. If someone goes all in for $150, that still is not considered a raise and does not reopen the betting. In fact, even if someone goes all in for $199, that still is not considered a raise and does not reopen the betting. The all-in bet must be a raise of at least $100 to be considered a raise and reopen the betting.
